A renowned and best-selling UK women’s fiction writers is coming to Pinner for a one-off literary event next week.

Adele Parks is the author of 16 books and sold more than three million copies, including The Stranger in My Home, The Other Woman’s Shoes, Young Wives’ Tale, About Last Night and The State We’re In.

At Pinner Village Hall on March 23 she will share her passion for writing, talk about her books and answer any questions you might have about writing a bestseller.

It is a fundraising event organised by Juliette Morrison and Karoline Latchman, from Hatch End, who will both be taking part in the Thames Path Challenge in September to raise money for Young Minds and the brain tumour charity.

They will set off at 8am on Saturday, September 9, from Putney in south west London and walk 100 kilometres through day and night until they reach Henley, in Oxfordshire.

Juliette says: “Young Minds is a great charity, I only hope that I can help those who suffer silently by raising awareness of the problems that are sadly affecting increasingly more children. I have experienced first-hand the difficulty of finding support for our teens and wouldn’t want anyone to feel so alone.”

The Brain Tumour Charity HeadSmart is raising national awareness of the common signs and symptoms of a brain tumour in children and young people by equipping parents, the public and healthcare professionals with information they need.

This is achieved through the distribution of symptom cards and posters to raise awareness of symptoms. The women aim to raise £3,000 to share between the charities.
