Volunteers generously donated their blood at a Hindu Temple to help save the lives of thousands of people.

The Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Kingsbury Road, in Kingsbury, held its 20th blood donation session on Sunday, February 26.

During the day, more than 2,000 people visited the Temple to donate.

There were also food and drink stalls, as well as talks from guest speakers, who revealed the blood given would collectively save the lives of 6,000 people.

Regular blood donor, Bhavesh Varsani, 31, from Brent, celebrated his 20th blood donation on the same day.

He said: “It’s great to be celebrating my 20th donation at the Mandir’s 20th session.

“I donate here because the staff are fantastic and it is a stunning venue to visit. The community here is so inspiring.

“I hope that the amazing work of the Temple continues to encourage more people from all backgrounds to donate blood. It’s simple, easy and it costs nothing to help save lives, so make an appointment to donate at a session near you.”
