A man has been jailed following a chase on foot through back gardens in Harrow.
Dominic Elliot, 28, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced to 16 weeks in prison after being convicted of criminal damage, assault and obstruction.
Police first approached him on Northolt Road, Harrow, on Saturday afternoon.
Elliot took off and when police caught up with him, he punched one and broke free, leading them on a chase through gardens and over fences before he was finally apprehended in Crane Close.
Roxbourne and Roxeth Safer Neighbourhood Team thanked residents who aided in the arrest, and apologised for the damaged fence in a tweet, drawing parallels with a scene from comedy film Hot Fuzz where police officers vault over a series of fences.
