A man suspected of drug offences was chased through back gardens by police, smashing down a fence that got in his way.
Police first approached the man on Northolt Road, Harrow, on Saturday afternoon.
The man took off and when police caught up with him he punched one and broke free, leading them on a chase through gardens and over fences before he was finally apprehended in Crane Close.
The man was charged with assaulting a police officer, criminal damage, and obstructing a drugs search. He was remanded in custody to appear in court on Monday.
Roxbourne and Roxeth Safer Neighbourhood Team thanked residents who aided in the arrest, and apologised for the damaged fence in a tweet, drawing parallels with a scene from comedy film Hot Fuzz where police officers vault over a series of fences.
