A drug dealer found with millions of pounds worth of cocaine in his car has been jailed for six years.

Voicu Razvan Florea, of Risingholme Road, was driving his Nissan Micra along the M6 near Crewe when he was pulled over by traffic officers in a routine stop.

A search of his car however yielded 16kg of cocaine, with a street value of around £5million, found in a suitcase in his boot.

Florea, 31, pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court on Friday, and was handed a six-year sentence for his crimes.

Constable Scott Bowater, of Cheshire’s Taskforce Proactive Officers Team, said: “Thanks to the work of traffic officers conducting a routine stop, and the subsequent work carried out by Taskforce officers, it has resulted in a significant amount of drugs being removed from our streets.

“By proactively policing our roads and motorway networks it prevents organised criminals from having the access to transport these drugs around the country.

“We will continue to make every effort to remove these drugs from our streets to protect and improve the quality of life for our community.”
