HARROW was submerged under water after “horrendous” rainfall yesterday.
The roundabout next to Morrisons in Harrow-on-the-Hill, Pinner Station and North Harrow Stations were all affected.
Traffic was grounded to a halt as people waited for buses, trying to dodge the huge puddles.
Kristina Bennet, of Marsh Road, near the station, watched the rain fall from her window at around 4.30pm.
The 28-year-old said: “It was such an inconvenience and happened so quickly, people stood at the bus stop had nowhere to shelter and it caused a build-up of traffic.”
Lee Morse, a courier, was driving through Chalgrove Road, on his way to delivering an “urgent” package to an address in Isleworth at 3.30pm.
The 45-year-old ended up being stuck in traffic for 40 minutes as the roads filled with water.
He said: “The rain was horrendous near Harrow and Wealdstone, it looked like an avalanche.
“All the school children had to get off the bus and got wet and I couldn’t get out my car or move, otherwise I would have got soaked too.”
