A PAIR of best friends will give up their Saturday to raise money for an animal charity.
Mimi Rock, 7, and Aanya Shah, 8, pupils at Cannon Lane Primary School in Pinner, will sell homemade cupcakes, lemonade and toys to raise money for the RSPCA.
Mimi's mother, Babs Rock, said she is proud of her daughter and her friend for getting involved in the community.
She said: “They both love animals and had an idea to set up a shop to raise money for them.”
Ms Rock said her daughter had been inspired by her older sister, who is a vegan, and her brother, who last year gave up his birthday presents to instead raise money for a homeless shelter.
The girls hope to raise £500 for the charity.
Ms Rock added: “In their school, there’s a real sense of charity and being involved. I’m really proud that both girls have taken that on board.”
The young girls have already begun collecting toys and books to sell at their stall and are getting ready to make the cupcakes fresh for the day.
The stall will be held at Roxbourne Park on Saturday May 28.
