Following on from the Boaty McBoatface furore, Tube lines in London could be renamed the Towie Line, Tulisa Line and Wham! Line.

PR company Tribble & Straife was hired by TfL to poll the public on possible new names for Underground lines.

The plan was inspired by the recent rebranding of Crossrail as the Queen Elizabeth Line.

TfL had proposed naming the Central Line as the Churchill Line and the Northern Line as the Thatcher Line, in honour of the politicians who represented the districts.

But the public has other ideas.

So far the most popular choices is to rename the Piccadily Line in honour of Enfield resident Tulisa.

Meanwhile the Central Line will become the Towie Line, named after the Only Way is Essex, which is filmed in east London.

The Northern Line meanwhile could end up being named the Wham! Line, in honour of George Michael’s famous prang in Hampstead in 2010.
