Family and friends of a man who was murdered in the Tunisia beach massacre took part in a 10K in his memory.
Now only a few months after his death, 22 friends, colleagues and family members formed a team and took part in the Moor Park 10k on Sunday in his memory.
An avid Watford FC fan, Mr Dyer was a keen athlete and ex-marathon runner and had taken part in the 10k race, which is held every year at Merchant Taylors’ School to raise money for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre, in 2014.
Buzz Coster, marketing manager at the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre, said: “22 of his friends and colleagues and family formed a team and took part in the race last year and they came and ran in his memory, which was really special.
“We were very honoured they chose this event to honour him.
"Chris himself ran the event in 2014.”
The 32-year-old, who attended the Pinner school between 1994 and 1999 where he sat his GCSEs, had been enjoying the second week of his holiday with his 30-year-old wife of two years when the gunman arrived on the Sousse beach.
As the pair ran for cover into the Imperial Marhaba hotel garden., Mr Dyer was shot in the head and died from his injuries.
His wife, Gina Van Dort was shot under the chin and suffered severe injuries, but was flown back to the UK in late July.
A GoFundMe page set up in the aftermath of the attack has raised £12,514 for Dyer’s family.
