A HARROW schoolboy has died after an alleged attack outside a nightclub in Greece while on holiday with friends.

Harrow School student Archie Lloyd, 18, fell and hit his head on the pavement in a row outside the Cloud Nine nightclub in Malia, Crete, on August 6.

It is believed he refused medical help from paramedics outside the club and later took a taxi back to his hotel in Sissi, around four miles away.

The Harrovian, who was a gifted sportsman and played in the school’s football and cricket teams, was later found dead in his bed at the hotel by his friends.

A private funeral will be held for Mr Lloyd at Winchester Cathedral on Thursday, according to a death notice published by his Hampshire-based family.

The notice read: “He was a wonderful and much loved son of James and Claire and adored brother of Hector, Hugo, Kitty and Flora.

“He will be missed terribly by all his family and friends.”

The teenager had been on holiday with classmates from the independent Harrow School, in Harrow-on-the-Hill, to celebrate the end of their A-levels at the £36,000-a-year school.

He was due to have picked up his results on Thursday, August 13.

Police believe the teen had an argument with a barman, who then punched him.

A post-mortem examination showed the teenager suffered a severe head injuries including bleeding on the brain.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned until February next year at Winchester Coroners’ Court.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We can confirm the death of a British national on August 6. We are providing consular assistance to the family.”

A 22-year-old British bar worker, Sebastian Trabucatti from East Grinstead, West Sussex, has been charged with gross negligence leading to manslaughter.

Trabucatti, who denies causing the death, has been released on bail and ordered to remain on the island.
