Savvy savers have been awarded a £1,000 grant to help protect people from fraud.
A team of young penny-pinchers from Stanmore College have been awarded a £1,000 Legacy Grant as part of this year’s Money for Life Challenge.
The ScamBuster team battled their way through the rounds to reach the final stages of the competition, which asked 16 to 24-year-olds to run their own money management projects over a three-month period using a £500 grant.
Applicants were asked to show how they would use the £1,000 Legacy Grant to build on their original project, with each project also having the opportunity to work with a Lloyds Banking Group mentor to support their expansion.
The Legacy Grant, one of only eleven awarded across the UK, will now enable the ScamBusters to continue their project in Stanmore to help educate people against financial fraud and scams.
