A record-holding hula-hooping trio put on a dizzying performance as part of superhero day.
Hoop La La - the famed circus trio who reached Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals in 2008 – wowed shoppers at Enfield’s Palace Gardens on Thursday, July 30 with a Hula Heroes show to a backing song of Bonny Tyler’s “I need a hero”.
Hundreds of children also gave hula-hooping a whirl under the performers’ expert tuition.
But it wasn’t just children getting into the superhero spirit, as Pearsons’ staff rivalled the children’s costumes and joined them for themed activities.
Ellis Hanci, who works in the toy department, even knitted his own batman outfit especially for the occasion.
Even those who couldn’t quite get the knack of hula-hooping had a chance to show off their special powers through craft workshops and a competition for the best superhero outfit.
On August 5, Captain Jack Sparrow will be sailing in to Palace Gardens for Pirate Day, featuring a comedy show from Pirates in Menspants and art workshops.
