A father-of-two from Stanmore has described the noise from large vehicles hitting cracks in the road outside his home as “horrendous”.

Hitesh Jansari, who lives in Honeypot Lane with his family, says he has been kept awake at night and woken up in the morning when large vehicles go over cracks in the dual carriageway.

The 39-year-old has described seeing cracks and potholes in the road, which are about 10cmx10cm, and has called on the council to repair the road, which is also a bus route.

He said: “When lorries or big vehicles go over, it is like ‘bang, bang, bang’ noise.

“It is really really horrendous. I first complained to the council two years ago and they said they did not have any budget. I put another complaint in a month ago.

“It may not be a big issue in a small street, but when these holes are in a dual carriageway, it is much worse.

“It does keep me awake in the evening and wakes me up in the morning, even at the weekends. It is really infuriating. I have got two small children and they have woken up in the middle of the night because of the noise.”

The father-of-two added that neighbours in the area have also complained about the cracks in the road.

Mr Jansari: “If you are a normal resident contacting the council, you just sit waiting in a queue.”

Harrow council has been approached for a comment but was unable to reply before the paper went to print.
