Green flags will fly across the borough as five parks have been honoured with awards.

Pinner Memorial Park, Harrow Recreation Ground, Canons Park, Roxeth Recreation Ground and Kenton Recreation Ground have yet again received the Green Flag Award.

The awards, which recognise the best parks and green spaces across the country, were judged by more than 700 experts against eight criteria, including community involvement, cleanliness and horticultural standards.

Harrow council has praised its staff and park volunteers for maintaining all the parks in the borough to a high standard.

Councillor Graham Henson said: “We are delighted that five of our parks have again been awarded the Green Flag status for high quality maintenance and facilities available.

“Harrow is one of the greenest boroughs in London with lots of parks and open spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy.”
