Leaders at a Wealdstone primary school are celebrating after pupils achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in their SATS.

Year 6 pupils at Marlborough Primary School, in Station Road, achieved at least a level 4 in the national exams – reading, writing, mathematics and grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Managers at the school are delighted with the latest results, but they have also pointed towards the fact that two classes were put in for the exams, making them one of the largest schools to achieve 100 per cent in the country.

They added the school has a large number of economically disadvantaged pupils and one of the highest levels of pupil premiums - additional funding for disadvantaged pupils - in Harrow.

Headteacher Julia Drozdowskij said: “Our school motto, taken from Malala Yousafzai’s speech to the UN, is ‘For Every Child’s Bright Future’, and we really mean every child.

“We are relentless in pursuing our ambitions for our pupils, no matter what the challenges – and they have responded wonderfully with these excellent results.

“We work hard, have high aspirations and a passion for teaching. I’m delighted to see those qualities reflected in our pupils’ achievements. Their futures really are bright.”
