A parish councillor has been jailed for two years after making Facebook contact with a woman he molested when she was a child.

David Swinton, who now lives in Bath Road, Bracebridge Heath, denies sneaking into the girl's room during the night when she was aged between eight and 11-years-old and touching her between her legs over a four-year period.

He was found guilty of two counts of indecent assault, and cleared by the Judge of six others.

The court was told the complainant was reluctant to report Swinton, who lived in Harrow at the time, as his civil servant wife Jane sat on Harrow council and his mother-in-law served as a former mayor of the borough.

He was jailed for two years at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday, July 7.

The judge also imposed a five year Sexual Harm Prevent Order on Swinton and placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.
