Swimmers undertook an ‘incredible feat’ as they raised more than £6,000 for charity.
Harrow Leisure Centre, in Christchurch Avenue, Harrow, has now announced the fundraising total for a swimathon it held earlier this year, which saw 40 swimmers take the plunge for charity.
Swimmers swam either 1.5km, 2.5km or 5km distances, both individually and as part of a team, to help raise more than £6,581 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Centre manager John Sewell said: “This was an incredible feat from swimmers who took to the water.
“There was a great atmosphere with plenty of supporters cheering the swimmers on from the poolside.”
