A fundraiser will be packing extra blister plasters when he sets out on an epic journey for charity.

Milad Latif, from Holyrood Avenue, South Harrow, is taking on a 500-mile walking challenge to raise money for the Nepal earthquake appeal, following the disaster that killed more than 8,000 people.

The keen walker will be starting the journey in France at St Jean Pied due Port, travelling along the St James' trail to Santiago de Compostela in Spain – a 500 mile trip that will take roughly 30 to 40 days.

Each night he plans to camp out in a tent or sleeping bag along the way or stay in hostels.

Speaking to the Harrow Times, he said: “I was inspired to do the walk from another amazing woman who has just begun her walk from London to Scotland for her chosen charity in South Africa.

“I am fortunate enough as I am able to take time off work to do this however I am sure there are people in our community who would love to help but are unable to do so due their daily commitments.

“Through sponsorship everyone in our community can get involved - it will be as if the donors are partaking on the journey with me.”
