Volunteers raised more than £1,000 at a quiz night to mark the 50th anniversary of the Samaritans in Harrow.

More than 85 people attended a quiz supper at Stag Lane Junior and Infant School in Edgware to help raise £1,500 for the helpline charity, which is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary in the borough.

The winning team on the night gave back their prize to be sold at the charity's shop in Harrow Weald.

The charity’s branch director and the London regional director cut a specially made cake to mark the occasion.
