Lions Clubs have donated more than £4,000 to charity to support people suffering from mental health illnesses.

The Lions Clubs of Kingsbury and Kenton, in association the Asian Foundation for Help, raised £4,350 for Mind in Harrow at a dinner and Bollywood dance event at the Premier Banqueting Hall in Wealdstone, attended by more than 400 supporters.

Businesses also supported evening, donating services and products such as dinner for two and a free healthcheck which were raffled off on the night.

Mind in Harrow chief executive Mark Gillham said: “We are very grateful to the Clubs of Kingsbury & Kenton who have worked extremely hard and run a highly successful event to raise this donation for Mind in Harrow.

“The money will make a huge difference to hundreds of Harrow residents in need of our mental health information service.”
