Health care and foodbanks were discussed at a hustings hosted by a hospice.
Harrow East candidates Bob Blackman, Uma Kumaran, Emma Wallace, Nana Asante and Ross Barlow attended the St Luke’s Hospice hustings event at Canons High School on Tuesday to put forward their parties’ promises.
Candidates were given an opportunity to outline their key pledges before answering questions from the audience including the strains on the NHS and Northwick Park hospital, along with the lack of substantial pay increases for NHS staff and nurses.
Plans for tackling offshore tax havens, the impact of austerity on different parts of society and the rise of foodbanks were also covered.
Charity chief executive Robin Webb said: “Thanks to everyone who turned up for the St Luke’s Hustings in Harrow East and to Canons High school for hosting.
“Both the audience and candidates were all engaged, despite differing views on some of these key election issues.”
