A girls-only sixth form questioned a Lord about the role of women in politics.

Northwood College for Girls’ Sixth Form welcomed Lord Rosser last Friday, who gave a talk and answered questions as part of the Peers for Schools programme, which encourages Lords to visit schools and discuss their roles in politics.

Questioned about the role of women in the House of Lords, Lord Rosser explained that women - while still underrepresented - play a very active role, with women currently Leader and Speaker of the House of Lords.

Lord Rosser also took the girls through the political process of writing legislation and focused on the role of the House of Lords as the "revising chamber" after to the House of Commons.
