Campaigners calling for Tamil independence carried a torch through Harrow.
The Liberation Torch Relay from Britain to Geneva reached north London this weekend, passing through Rayners Lane and Northolt.
The aim of the relay is to promote calls for the international community to recognise a genocide campaigners say is taking place by the Sri Lankan state against Tamils.
Kanesathaas Vikarnan, from north west London, carried the Liberation Torch, as North West TCC member Mr Kopinath Nitthiyaanantham carried the national flag of Tamil Eelam – a proposed Tamil state.
They were joined by Tamil Youth Organisation UK member Sathapalan Ganesalingham, Labour Party MP for Harrow West, Gareth Thomas and Northwood's Conservative MP Nick Hurd also joined the procession.
