Children were inspired to “be the best they can be” when a Paralympian shared his journey of success.
Judoka Paralympian silver medallist Ian Rose visited Woodcroft Primary School, in Goldbeaters Grove, Edgware, as part of a programme to challenge people to reach their full potential.
He spoke to the pupils about how he rose to fame despite many setbacks after eye cancer as a baby left him partially blind.
Mr Rose also showed the pupils the medals he achieved during London 2012.
The day was organised as part of Aim@Woodcroft’s ‘Be The Best You Can Be’ programme, which challenges young people to pursue and fulfill their dreams.
Headteacher Craig Tallon said: “Be The Best You Can Be 2015 will build on our achievements from last year.
“The pupils and the whole school community embraced the aspirational ideas and everyone enjoyed Ian’s visit enormously, with his stories of resilience to overcome challenges.”
