Prospective entrepreneurs in Pinner are failing to take advantage of government start-up loans.
Across the country, a total of 25,000 start-up loans have been awarded, worth a total of nearly £130 million, and helping to generate more than 32,000 new jobs.
Of the total, just seven of those - totalling £43,054 - come from Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, in comparison to 40 loans awarded in Harrow East.
Out of 650 constituencies there are only 44 in which less than ten start-up loans – which are available for new businesses - have been awarded and just one other from London.
MP Nick Hurd said: “This seems a very successful and popular offer across London so I was surprised how small the take-up has been in the constituency compared to neighbouring areas.
“I can't believe we lack entrepreneurs so it must be about awareness. I hope that we can change that given how important small businesses are to the recovery and the community".
