Book-loving schoolchildren held a protest to try to save a public library.
Schoolchildren from Newton Farm Nursery, Infant and Junior School, in Ravenswood Crescent, South Harrow, protested against the potential library closure at Rayners Lane Library, in Imperial Drive.
The dedicated pupils collected more than 300 signatures on January 16 for a petition calling for their library to remain open.
A Year 2 student from the school said: “I am extremely upset that Rayners Lane Library is going to close. We all use the library to get interesting books.
“If the library closes, it will affect a lot of people especially children and elderly people. Doesn't everyone have the right to read?”
