A burglar who assaulted an elderly woman after twice being disturbed by householders has been jailed for more than eight years..
John Patrick McDonagh, 38, pleaded guilty on December 1 at Wood Green Crown Court to two counts of burglary and one count of assaulting an 80-year-old woman.
After being disturbed breaking into a home in Hale Drive, Edgware, he fled to a nearby home in Dryfield Road where he broke in before being disturbed once again.
He then went to a home in Deans Walk, where he assaulted an 80-year-old woman.
Mr McDonagh, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to a total of eight years and nine months’ imprisonment on January 9.
