A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after an elderly man was hit by a car.
Police were called to Eastcote Lane, South Harrow, near the junction of Brookside Close at 5.05pm yesterday to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a black Ford Focus.
The man, believed to be in his 80s, was taken to a central London hospital with head injuries and remains in a serious condition.
Officers say the man driving the Ford stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
He was released on bail to attend a police station in February.
Police are calling for anyone who may have seen the incident to get in contact with them, especially those who may have got off the 114 double-decker bus which stopped near the scene.
