Proposals to combine an infant and junior school and then expand the number of places avalible will be looked at by councillors.
The proposals for Welldon Park Infant and Nursery School and Welldon Park Junior School will be discussed by members of Harrow Borough Council’s cabinet.
Under the proposals, the two schools could combine by closing the junior school and extending the age range of the infant school.
The school would then increase in size to accommodate another class for both infants and juniors as part of the council’s third school expansion programme.
The third round of expansions was judged necessary by the council earlier this year following a revised estimate of the pupil population in the coming years.
The authority says the programme is needed to cope with the growing demand in the borough and to fulfil its statutory duties to provide sufficient school places.
Councillors will this evening decide whether to publish statutory notices for the proposals.
