Harrow Borough Council's draft budget will be discussed at a meeting this evening.

The council's cabinet will look at the proposals announced last week for next financial year and the year after.

The Labour administration announced it plans to increase council tax by 1.99 per cent, charge £75 a year for fortnightly collections of garden waste, and invest £715,000 in social workers, creating 15 new posts at the authority.

The cabinet is expected to approve the draft budget and full details will be published and put out to consultation before going to full council in February next year.

The cabinet will meet at the council civic centre, in Station Road, at 6.30pm tonight.
