People are being warned to beware of distraction burglars after two cases within 24-hours.
Since Monday this week police say there have been two cases, one in North Harrow and the other in central Harrow, with burglars posing as staff water board and the council.
Police say the men produced identification and managed to convince victims they were checking for leaky pipes.
Once inside, one of the suspects would talk to the victim while the other would go through the house stealing property.
Officers investigating have described the two men as white, approximately 6ft tall with brown hair and wearing blue T-shirts and blue trousers.
One was also seen holding a notebook to make him look authentic.
Police are reminding people they are not obliged to let anyone in their home and if they are in doubt they should call the police.
