People sampled life at a new Greek Orthodox school at a series of open events.

Visitors to St Andrew the Apostle School, in North London Business Park, Southgate, joined in with maths challenges, Latin games and science experiments.

Musical entertainment, Shakespeare rehearsals, PE and other taster sessions were also on offer during the events last Thursday and on Monday.

Headteacher Robert Ahearn talked about future plans and the student experience at St Andrew the Apostle School, which opened a year ago.

He said: “Our lessons are outstanding and our teachers are hand-picked. This is vital to ensure that our children enjoy their education and it makes me very proud to see what they have already achieved in just one year.

“St Andrew the Apostle is a Christian school – but it is also an inclusive school and we will welcome any students from any backgrounds who not only want the benefit of high quality teachers and teaching, but also who want to develop socially, culturally, spiritually and morally.”
