Artists impressions of what the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration project will look like when completed have been released.

Developers Hammerson and Standard Life Investments hope to transform Brent Cross Shopping Centre, in Prince Charles Drive, Hendon, into “the jewel in Barnet’s crown”.

This Friday, the first detailed proposals for the scheme will be unveiled – including creating a Living Bridge – a huge new cycle and pedestrian bridge over the A406.

Supporters say it will vastly improve the flow of traffic, making it easily accessible for people in other parts of the borough, but others have called it a “living hell”.

The photographs also show plans to include a £5m project to create new green spaces, play areas and sports facilities in the Clitterhouse Playing Fields.

Under the regeneration scheme, thousands of new homes and jobs, as well as facilities for schools, will also be created.

To find out more about the plans, visit Brent Cross Shopping Centre on Friday, October 10 from 10am to 8pm, Saturday, October 11 from 9am to 8pm and Sunday, October 12 from 12pm to 6pm.

They will also be on show at the Crown Moran Hotel, in Cricklewood Broadway, from on Tuesday, October 14 and Wednesday, October 15 from 12pm to 8pm.

Hendon Leisure Centre, in Marble Drive, will also display the plans on Friday, October 17 from 12pm to 8pm and Saturday, October 18 from 11am to 5pm.
