A photography exhibition, live music and artist’s open studios are some of the highlights of an upcoming arts week.

The first annual Pinner Arts Week will take place from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, October 5, and will include a total of 38 events across 14 different venues.

One highlight of the week includes writing workshop lead by children’s writer Michael Rosen, who grew up in the village, at Pinner Methodist Church, in Love Lane on Sunday, September 28.

Organisers hope the week will also be a chance for people to learn a new skill with free workshops on embroidery, bookbinding, life drawing, paper-cutting and flower-arranging.

Coordinator of the week Philip Lawder said: “We have been delighted by the response from the whole community.

“Not only the many creative talents in Pinner, but shops and individuals who have sponsored events, and churches and other locations who have offered their premises.

“We always knew that Pinner was a great community and it’s really exciting to see this event come alive.”
