Musical shows to mark the start of the First World War will be staged across the borough.

Lynn Radnedge, of Cyprus Avenue, Finchley, has created a music hall show named When the Poppies Bloom Again.

It will feature well-known songs and memories from the Finchley, Hendon and Whetstone areas.

The the 90 minute show features 30 sing-a-long songs and facts about people and places in the borough from 100 years ago.

Ms Radnedge, a former journalist, will be accompanied by fellow performers Tricia Thompson and Paul Sadler on the piano.

It will be held at the David Lloyd Centre, in Finchley on Sunday at 1pm and on Saturday, September 27 at the St Mary-at-Finchley church hall at 7.30.
