Families across the borough are being invited to a community fun day as part of a charity relay event.

The annual Relay for Life Harrow Family Fun Day will take place today at the Bannister Sports Centre, in Uxbridge Road, from 12.30pm to 5pm in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The day will include bouncy castles, steam train rides, line dancing, stall games and music.

People will be encouraged to show their support to those taking part in the relay which will see more than 15 teams in a continuous make their way around the running track at the sports ground.

Last year the event raised more than £50,000 for the charity with teams taking it in turns round the track for a total of 21 hours.

Later in the evening from 8pm people will be able remember a loved one who may have been affected by cancer at the Candle of Hope Ceremony.
