A top consultant will be taking on a gruelling 150 mile rowing challenge along the Thames.

Dr Andrew Keat, Consultant Rheumatologist at Northwick Park Hospital, will be travelling along the river to raise money for those with ankylosing spondylitis.

The team of 30 from the London Rowing Club are already on their way along the Thames having started at Lechlade and will reach the end of their trip in Putney on Thursday September 4.

The condition ankylosing spondylitis is a painful, progressive form of inflammatory arthritis that affects young people.

Dr Keat is a trustee of the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS) and is raising money for the chharity with his gruelling effort.
