Church to host free organ recital
A historic organ will be played in a free classical recital at a church.
St. Anselm’s Church, in Westfield Park, Hatch End will open its doors to the public for the performance on August 30 from 7.30pm.
The church bought the organ from the Royal Academy of Music in 1911 for £772 and five shillings.
It was built by renowned instrument maker Henry Willis and it was brought to Hatch End from the college by horse and cart.
The free concert at the end of this month will include an hour of French sonatas performed by soloist Martin Singleton.
