A delivery driver will be taking to two wheels to help the battle against diabetes in 100-mile bike ride.

Andy Copplestone, 48, from Harrow, will be jumping on his bike for the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 cycle to raise money Diabetes UK.

Mr Copplestone, whose 82-year-old father has the condition, said: “As well as my dad, I have other relatives and friends who have the condition so I know it is a really good cause.

“I’ve enjoyed the training - I usually go out on Sunday mornings either with friends or on my own. So far I have covered 770 miles.”

The ride will take place on Sunday August 10 and will see hundreds of people taking on a course that includes Box Hill in Surrey before going past the London Eye, Houses of Parliament and finishing in the Mall.
