Creative schoolchildren have donated a mosaic for a charity's residential village following weeks of work.

The year four pupils from Sinai School in Kenton donated the piece of art to charity Norwood's Ravenswood village.

The work will take pride of place in Ravenswood's synagogue on the Berkshire site, where 130 people who have learning disabilities live in individual homes.

During the past weeks, pupils drew up design plans and broke up coloured tiles and cemented them together.

Art assistant Anyta Laubscher said: "The children worked hard together as a team and came to realise the value of giving, kindness and helping people out whenever we can."

Ravenswood Rabbi Meir Salasnick said: "We are delighted that one of our charity projects this year is to sponsor Norwood for this exceptionally well executed mosaic by Sinai School pupils, which will beautify Ravenswood village."
