A school is celebrating after education watchdog Ofsted said it had turned itself around.

Fryent Primary School, in Church Road, Kingsbury, was rated 'good' by Ofsted with inspectors saying the “quality of teaching throughout the school is good, with some examples of outstanding teaching”.

Headteacher Jean Thwaites said: “We are all absolutely delighted with this report and it is wonderful to finish the summer term on a high, however we will not rest on our laurels as teaching and learning remains our paramount objective.

“The Ofsted judgement is down to the great teamwork in the school, supportive parents and engaged and enthusiastic children.”

The school in Church Road has been turned around in 18 months after it received the 'requires improvement' rating in 2013.

In the latest report inspectors said pupils have a “good sense of right and wrong, promoted well through teaching and personal, social and health education. Diversity is valued and celebrated.”
