A special needs school is celebrating after being rated 'outstanding' by the education watchdog.

Kingsley High School, a school for pupils between 11 and 18 with special educational needs, was given the top rating from Ofsted in its latest inspection.

Last week Harrow Borough Council cabinet member for schools by Cllr Simon Brown visited staff and pupils to congratulate the school in Whittlesea Road, which provides for children with severe and multiple learning disabilities.

Jeff Anderson, Kingsley's chairman of governors, said "To be rated as an 'outstanding' school by Ofsted is a testament not only to an exceptional headteacher in Pauline Atkins, to a fantastic senior management team and the passion and commitment of all staff - it is also a tribute to the students.

"I am immensely proud of each and every one at Kingsley, who give so much to all our learners, so they can achieve their full potential."
