A Hindu temple welcomed hundreds of people to celebrate the election of India’s new prime minister.
The International Siddhashram Shakti Centre held the celebrations in Byron at Harrow Leisure Centre on Friday, May 30.
More than 1,000 people packed onto the hall for the event to celebrate the election of new Indian Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi who came to power last month.
Spiritual leader of the temple Dr Rajeshji Parmar: “The Siddhashram had organised a cultural programme marking this celebration followed by a spectacular Gujarati Garba.
“The people gathered were jubilant and enjoyed every moment of the famous Gujarati Garba. All the guests were served Indian snacks.”
There were performances of traditional Indian dancing and speeches from local politicians.
