A man has organised a gruelling cycling challenge to raise money for a hospital foundation.

Paul Bouscarle, a former bowel cancer patient at St Mark’s Hospital, Harrow, has organised the Colon Challenge which will take place next month.

The event will see 16 riders take on the 280-mile trip from London to Northampton and back to the Arsenal Emirates Stadium to raise money for St Mark’s Hospital Foundation.

Mr Bouscarle said: “St Mark’s Hospital Foundation is committed to creating a world free of the fear of bowel disease, a cause close to my heart since I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in January 2013.

“I am convinced that supporting St Mark’s is the best way to improve the treatment of all kinds of bowel disease.

“As well as raising money, I want the Colon Challenge to raise the profile of St Mark’s Hospital Foundation so it attracts the level of support that it deserves as a world-class centre for research into bowel disease.”

The ride will take place from Wednesday May 28 to Saturday May 31 and those interested in sponsoring the cyclists can do so by clicking here.
