A college student has been appointed as representative for his peers for the National Union of Students.
Dario Celaschi, who is studying for his A levels at Stanmore College, will sit as a national councillor for the NUS at its annual conference later this year.
The 18-year-old is currently president of the college’s student union and with his latest appointment will help shape the policy of the union for the year ahead.
Mr Celaschi, who is also running as a Green candidate in the upcoming London local elections, said: “I’m truly honoured to have been elected.
"In my role I will be able to better construct and scrutinise the work of NUS, ensuring that the barriers of students, particularly those from further education are heard to ensure a successful General Election campaign from NUS in the lead up to 2015.”
