People can walk inside a giant bowel to find out more about the importance of digestive health.

The North West London Hospitals NHS Trust will be holding an information event on Friday, to mark bowel awareness day.

Visitors will have the chance to talk to healthcare staff from St Mark’s Hospital to find out about the importance of digestive health and people will be able to take a tour of a giant inflatable bowel.

Organiser Robert Azevedo-Gilbert, Chairman of Friends of St Mark’s, said: “Many people suffer from bowel disorders in silence and are sometimes too embarrassed to ask for help.

“This is a great opportunity for members of the public to speak to doctors, nurses and consultants about any concerns or questions they might have.”

The free information event will take place in St Anns Road in Harrow town centre, from 10am to 4pm.
