Families found out more about the renovation and investment into the Harrow Museum at Headstone Manor at an open day.

On Saturday people were given the chance to look at the plans for the historic manor house, tithe barn and museum, in Pinner View.

The manor, which was owned by Henry VIII for six days during the Reformation, is the only moated house in Middlesex and one of the few remaining in England.

Harrow Borough Council says it hopes to create a sustainable future for the site with restoration work on the great barn, which began last month.

Work is also underway on the restoration of the manor house and the creation of a new museum with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund.

If the plans are given the go ahead the museum will get £3.6m from the lottery fund to complete the works over the next four years.

Architects, landscape architects, exhibition designers were on hand for people to talk to about the proposals for the site.
