Thirty schools are due to be affected by today’s teachers strike, with seven closing all together.
Harrow Borough Council says at least seven schools will be closed as members of the National Union of Teachers in Harrow take part in national strike action.
Aylward Primary School, Earlsmead Primary School, Norbury School, Priestmead School & Nursery, Shaftesbury High School, Vaughan Primary School and Welldon Park Junior School will all be closed.
More than 20 other primary and secondary schools across the borough will be partially open for the day and the council says the best source of information about each one remains each school’s website.
The NUT has raised a number of concerns about government changes that it says are having a damaging effect on education.
These include teachers working until they are 68 or beyond, increasing pensions contributions by 50 per cent and the introduction of performance-related pay.
