Thousands of people attended a Hindu temple to celebrate the festival of Holi.

The Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Dharma Bhakti Manor, in Wood Lane, Stanmore, hosted the event, which included the throwing of coloured rice powder on Sunday.

Families from across Harrow enjoyed the evening, which celebrates the triumph of good over evil.

Temple president Khimjibhai Patel said: "This festival of Holi had been truly amazing and divine.

"On behalf of the board of Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Dharma Bhakti Manor we would like to thank everyone who attended, especially all the youth volunteers who made this festival special.

β€œIt is through sheer hard work and unity of our young generation that we are able to stand proud and celebrate such events on a grand scale.”
