People are being called to donate food, clothing and other items on the three year anniversary of the Syrian crisis.

Members of the Jafferys Hussaini Islamic Centre, Stanmore, will be collecting items for Hand In Hand For Syria charity for their Big Spring Aid Drop on Saturday March 22 and Sunday 23.

The charity was founded by British Syrian doctors, business people and other professionals and it runs more than 80 field clinics and six hospitals in the country.

According to the United Nations it is estimated half of the Syria’s population is in urgent need of aid with 5.5million children in need.

The collection day is part of national appeal and the charity will be collecting a range of items including nappies, adult’s and children’s clothes, shoes, colouring books, stationary and medical supplies.

Those interested in donating will be able to drop off items at Jafferys Hussaini Islamic Centre Wood Lane, Stanmore throughout the day on Saturday March 22 and Sunday March 23.
